The ESEE-5 was designed by military SERE instructors as a hard-use downed pilot's survival knife. With its 0.25" blade thickness, it's a big fixed blade that's tough, durable and practical. These knives are made from high carbon 1095 steel. And while 1095 is a top choice for professional cutlery designed for hard use, it will rust and stain if not properly cared for - especially on the cutting edge and around the laser engraving. It is the user's responsibility to keep the blades properly lubricated and cleaned. We suggest using a dry film rust inhibitor such as TUF-GLIDE or TUF-CLOTH. The 3D machined G10 handles give this knife an improved ergonomic grip over the slab Micarta scales. The knife also features spine jimping, full tang construction, lanyard hole, and a glass breaker. The knife comes with a Kydex sheath, clip plate, paracord lanyard, and cord lock.
